Zero Tolerance Policy

The single most important thing to us here at Lovebox is that you have a very positive experience in a safe and caring environment. We have a zero tolerance policy to any harassment based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, body size, appearance, age or national origin.

Anyone seen or thought to be violating this policy will be removed from the festival. If you see anyone experiencing any form of harassment, please inform a member of staff or security to take further action.

Sexual Harassment

We do not tolerate any kind of sexual harassment or violence. Please follow these three rules:

  •   Zero Tolerance to Sexual Assault

Sexual assault is never okay.  If you or any of your friends experience this kind of behaviour you should report it immediately and know that it will be taken very seriously by police and event organisers.  It doesn’t matter if you are intoxicated, you will be listened to and given the support you need.

  •   Hands Off Unless Consent

Consent means agreeing to do something. When it comes to sex, this means someone agreeing to take part in a sexual activity. Any form of sexual contact without consent is illegal whatever the age of the people involved. If you do not give consent and a person still engages in a sexual act, this is sexual assault or rape. People who are drunk or under the influence of drugs can’t consent to any kind of sexual activity. Remember you shouldn’t ever feel pressured into any kind of sexual activity. It’s okay to say no or change your mind.

  •   Don’t Be A Bystander

If you witness any kind of sexual assault don’t just ignore it.  Report what you have seen to a member of the security team immediately.  Be a friendly face in the crowd and help look after each other.

If you feel you have been a victim of sexual assault please make a festival staff member, security member or police officer aware as soon as possible.

Mental Health

Looking after our mental health and wellbeing at festivals is important as it helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others and make choices.

Everyone has mental health, it includes our emotional, psychological, and social wellbeing. It affects how we think, feel and act.

If you have an existing mental health condition, please follow our recommended advice:

  • Bring any medication you require with you and remember to take it as prescribed. You will require an exemption letter to bring medication in with you so remember to email us in advance here.
  • Before you go, think about whether certain situations could be difficult for you, for example – big crowds. Try to mentally prepare yourself for what it might be like and what you would do it you become overwhelmed.
  • If you have a history of poor mental health, you may be more likely to experience negative effects with alcohol and other drugs.
  • If you are on medication for a mental health condition, be mindful of how this could interact with alcohol.
  • Try to be open with your friends and let them know if you are struggling or need help.

Remember that the Welfare Tent and The Sanctuary are spaces provided on site should you require any support.

Alcohol Harm Reduction Guide

Here are a number of ways to reduce the harmful effects of alcohol:

  • Alternate alcoholic drinks with soft drinks.
  • If you are drinking from early in the day, try to stick to drinks with a lower ABV – for example, lager rather than spirits.
  • Alcohol is the most common substance used to spike drinks. Never leave drinks unattended and don’t accept a drink from someone you don’t know.

Care & Safety Tips

These words of advice are provided to help ensure you have a safe and enjoyable experience at the event.

  • Be drink and drug aware Don’t overdo it.  Make informed decisions, drink responsibly and read our alcohol harm reduction guide below.
  • Look after your friends Decide on a meeting point in case you get separated.
  • Stay hydrated There will be water points located at every bar and toilet block where you can refill your plastic bottle.
  • Wear sunblock If the sun is shining be sure to apply sunblock regularly.
  • Look after your belongings Keep your money/cash card safely out of site and make sure your phone is charged. We have locker facilities and phone charging stations on site.
  • Bring only the essentials We advise against bringing valuables but if something of yours goes missing, report it immediately. A lost property area is located near the entrance. If your phone is lost or stolen, contact your network provider as soon as possible and ask for your SIM card and handset to be blocked immediately.
  • Take note of Security restrictions – A list of what you can & can’t bring to the event can be found here. Security measures are in place at all entry gates and you will be subject to search so please ensure you take note of security restrictions to avoid lengthy queues and delays.
  • Plan your route home Make sure to plan your journey home and give yourself adequate time to leave the site. Travel home with friends or in groups and make sure people are not left walking back on their own.
  • Be a friendly face in the crowd –  If you see someone you don’t know who looks like they are struggling or needs some help ask if they are okay.  If you see someone alone and unconscious alert a steward or a member of the event staff.
  • Stewards are here to help Whether it’s asking for directions, reporting an incident or someone you’re worried about, festival stewards will be located inside and outside the park to assist you.
  • Festival Map  Familiarise yourself with the layout of the site. The event map will be available here nearer the time of the event and take note of key locations such as the entrance/exit, toilets, water points and welfare tent.

Welfare & Medical

The Welfare tent provides festival goers with a hub of caring, experienced individuals to help you with even the smallest of issues. If you are feeling pressured, upset, emotional or just want a friendly face to talk to, head to the Welfare tent where the staff will be more than happy to help.

The Medical Tent is available for anyone who requires medical assistance during the festival. Our on-site medical services provide comprehensive medical advice and treatment facilities and are very flexible in meeting specific needs. Look out for others at the festival and inform a steward or a member of security if you notice that someone is unwell.

The Sanctuary (Women & LGBTQI+)

Lovebox will be bringing back The Sanctuary – a space for woman and LGBTQIA+, hosted by Pxssy Palace.

Festivals are enjoyable spaces for music lovers to come together, but this is often at some degree of risk to both the women and LGBTQIA+ in attendance.

The area will be used as a space for guests to report anything – from feeling uncomfortable, to sexual violence. Any emergency cases will be reported to security.

The Sanctuary can offer advice, support and most importantly a space where victims are believed.

Noise & Strobes

There is a possibility that the sound pressure may exceed 96dB. Prolonged exposure to loud noise can affect your hearing – take care of those ears.

Please note that strobe effects may be used at the event. There will be no specific announcements prior to the use of strobes and lasers. Strobe flicker rates will be at or below 4 flashes per second.

Rules of the Park

  •     Please respect the neighbourhood and our neighbours by leaving quickly and quietly.
  •     Please drop your litter in the bins, not the floor, and use the toilets provided.
  •     If you need directing to toilets or transport links, please ask one of the stewards on the routes to and from the park.
